P6070004.JPG (30585 bytes)Took part in the Michelin BFGoodrich Speed Fest at Sepang Motorkhana Circuit on 7th June 03. This event was to test the performance of the new Michelin tyre BFGoodrich G-Sport.

At 11.30am upon arrival we were welcomed to the BFGoodrich Hospitality Lounge at the Grand Stand for registration and lunch. There were nine of us representing the Peugeot Club Malaysia:

Ambassadors - ObeyOne, Azdar, DinMi16, Pumbaah, Tjgogo and Ijat.
Supporters: Zulfa, Aggmuqry, Waamady and Pescarolo.

Firstly our vehicles were inspected by the BFGoodrich officials at the Motorkhana Circuit.  All participants were divided into 2 groups, there were 30 cars in each group. Jep and Coyote were in the Group 1 and Abangk was in Group 2. The briefing of the test was given at the Paddock. The test involved driving the vehicle out of the garage, maneuvering a set of obstacles and finally returning to the original garage in the action of forward and reverse driving.

Participants were required to go through 4 types of challenges:
1) Forward and reversing skills - (Track maps)
2) Sprint and quick entering into a few garages.
3) Free Styling.
4) Group challenge, side by side (Group 1 vs Group 2) on "Finger look" turning circles.

Peugeot was the only continental car taking part in that event, the rest were Malaysian and Japanese cars. All together 20 Auto Clubs from Malaysia and Singapore participated in the event for the day.

Our first member to show his skills was Coyote with his 406 Auto who received loud applauses from the spectators for his smooth sharp turning with the power grip of BFGoodrich Tyres.

Jep with his 405GTX with Mi16 engine from the starting garage. There were more than 200 spectators watching the show.

Fantastic! Jep doing the 360 degrees spin with the power of Mi16 engine during the Free Styling. Those great spins with the BFGoodrich tyres were reminiscent of the slogan of "There will be no Peugeot if there is no winding roads".

Next from Group2 was Abangk in his 405 GTi 1991 the12-years-old standard-spec pug showed off its form still in level to perform the spinning and show off power. Stressing the BFGoodrich tyres to the limit.

The whole scenarios was a very interesting and a joyful event . This is the chance for us to push our car to its limit while testing the performance of BFGoodrich tyre. It's a lucky day for the organizer for it was raining awhile during the testing period and that enables the tyres to be tested on both DRY and WET ground conditions.

BFGoodrich is a one of the best tyres that we have tested, congratulation to Michelin as the BFGoodrich tyre distributor.

The overall winner of the challenge was awarded to CS Racing Club.
